Heritage Parc is set on 102 hectares with over 55 hectares dedicated to green open spaces. This space will be used to create parks, playgrounds and recreational facilities including a cycleway, golf facilities, a community garden, an outdoor art gallery, picnic areas with BBQ facilities, various playgrounds, fitness circuits, playing fields, a cricket facility, a basketball/netball court and a dedicated off-leash dog park.

The nearby Walka Water Works is a popular picnic and recreation area in the Maitland district, which is steeped in history that gives it a special place in the Lower Hunter’s heritage. The complex features its pump house with striking chimney and ornate brickwork and is one of the largest and most intact 19th century industrial complexes in the Hunter Valley. The large lake area has over 300 species of birdlife and walking trails surround the lake.

Heritage Parc offers convenient access to the Maitland railway station, the New England Highway and local bus services. Maitland Station lies on the Hunter Line and is the branch point for the Main North Line and the North Coast Line.
